FIRST MET
Scott and I worked together at the same company for several years. It would have been hard back then for anyone to say “do you know Scott Holcomb?” and received
a NO answer. Scott is easily known, not only for his big presence, but also for his performance. He’s smart, and engaging, and so he easily stands above the rest. Scott left that company
before I did, and ended up at a company called ResMan that sells most of the components needed in property management software. I left for another company with a similar job role than I
had at our last company. My company is best known for one element of what is needed in property management software, and thankfully for us, that’s one of the elements Scott’s company did
not want to have expertise in, so our companies partnered together. When I found out Scott was there, I couldn’t wait to reach out. He was so excited when I did, and had lots of kind words
to say.
Time progressed, and we both reached out occasionally and enjoyed long messages back and forth. Eventually there was a meeting between our companies where all the little people
were involved, and in that meeting, someone repeatedly found negatives to what I was presenting. After Scott had enough of that, he stepped in and stopped the person from speaking
negatively which made me see a HERO in Scott!! After some consultation with friends, I decided I would enjoy more time with Scott. So I waited. And baited him. And waited. And finally
we went on a date and closed the restaurant down. Then we went on another date and closed another restaurant down.
This happened 6 times within a 3 week period. I must have passed some test because after date 6, I got to meet some of Scott’s friend group who I immediately loved also.
